They're speed holes!

Egad. Song of the South is rumored to be coming to DVD in 2006.

It seems the starting date of the new Doctor Who series has been announced: 7pm, Saturday March 26, on BBC 1. Not exactly an obscure timeslot. ^_^

How do you make a sushi roll out of a light aircraft? Easy. Begin with starting the engine by hand, then realise the brake isn't working, and watch helplessly as it slices other aircraft quite fetchingly. Or, for a more low-tech occupational hazard, please think of the donkeys.

Caption, anyone? (And this picture is genuine. ^_^ It's of a harness feeding positional data to a Scanimate system, an old analog computer video animation setup - as you can see towards the rear, not quite the simplest of devices to work on)

Every now and then, despite being of the panda persuasion, I enjoy a good steak. That doesn't necessarily mean expensive - seasoned lightly and cooked minimally. In Sunday's case, just a dash of finely ground black pepper, a little garlic salt, and a tiny sprinkling of asafoetida to lend an almost imperceptible edge. Tossed a couple times on a fairly high heat, leaving the meat nicely juicy, but not actually squishily soft.. really quite good. ^_^

Speaking of which, further astounding advances in nanotechnology, in the form of the LifeWave Energy Patch, whose site helpfully reminds us that 'nanotechnology is described as "Manufactured products that are made from atoms. The properties of those products depend on how those atoms are arranged. If we rearrange the atoms in coal we can make diamonds. If we rearrange the atoms in sand we can make computer chips. If we rearrange the atoms in dirt, water and air we can make potatoes."'

The product itself? "The materials in the patches consist of a patent pending blend of water, oxygen, amino acids and organics applied to a polyester fabric and sealed within a polymer shell. The active materials are applied to a substrate so as to form a nano-scale organic antenna. When properly assembled, we believe that these LifeWave antennas are capable of passively communicating with the user to instruct or initiate various metabolic responses in the user."
