Out on today's walk, one photo shoot came to an end (by way of one of the many warren entrances, I'm pleased to report =:) due to the arrival of this rufous fellow.

I thought the hedgehog heads in this entry in thrifthorror might appeal to orona_red's sense of Teh Horrible. Instant LJ mood theme!

Via stego_s_aurus, some excellent Obama photos - we're all so used to seeing high-profile politicians amidst massive crowds, so it's most refreshing to see much more candid moments, from waiting in the concrete stairwell, waiting to enter an auditorium, snoozing on the campaign bus, or halfway up a wall; "Two staffers had just passed this site and done two pull-ups. Not to be outdone, Obama did three with ease, dropped and walked out to make a speech. Missoula, Mont., 4/5/2008."

Ooh, that could catch some people out.. seems Snow Leopard's default gamma's moving from 1.8 to 2.2.

HIGNFY should be fun next weekend - guest presenter's going to be Tom Baker. ^_^

Assuming it were waterproof, would an electric guitar work underwater, or would the strings be - so to speak - overly dampened?

FOX! ^.^

I don't see a major problem with the electric guitar. The pickups work by... Induction, I think it is. The movement of the steel 'strings' through the magnetic field caused by the pickups causes an electric current to be induced. This is detected, amplified and fed to a speaker.

The water WOULD cause extra drag on the strings, causing them to vibrate at a lower frequency and to stop vibrating quicker. But I think that the induction would not be affected by the water.

Yep, that's what I was trying to say. Although it should be noted that the electric guitar could, technically, work in a vacuum. It's a matter of how easily the string moves through the water rather than how quickly those vibrations make it to the pickups or to the ear.
But he was probably hoping for some dinner.
Fluffy Fox!
I recognise that species - it is a red, long-legged bunny with a long tail. ;-)
Nice shot! I wish I could find foxes to photograph in the wild.
What, no photos of Obama smoking? He is human, you know! :p
I love the hedgehog heads XD
