Mmm, sacrilicious! (Courtesy of lolchrist)

BBC Three's gaining a few new pilot episodes, two of particular interest: Being Human is a flatshare drama with a difference: the three flatmates in question are a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf; and Phoo Action, from Jamie Hewlett (Tank Girl, Gorillaz) starring Terry Phoo, a gay, Buddhist kung-fu cop, and Whitey Action, an enigmatic young anarchist.

Why punctuation is important. =:D

So, the NAACP invited all the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates to address their convention. All the Democrats turned up; the Republicans? Not so much.

Video effects fundamentals explained on trampoline.

I noticed the GBP's over 2.00 versus the USD, and apparently continuing to strengthen, so I thought I'd whisk up a chart or two to see what the trend is. (Note the third chart has the axes swapped, hence the apparent reversal of direction - xe.com's chart applet doesn't seem to offer the counterpart) Currently, $1.380 = 1€, $2.036 = £1, and $0.95 = Cdn$1.

Ooh. New Rabbit in the Moon. Got to love the heavy techno version of Let's Dance. =:D

So, there's now a DSPSP Lite - a bit slimmer, 1/3 lighter, and nicely, now including video output. Also apparently features twice the memory, at 64MB.

Finally restoring functionality lost in QuickTime 5, QT 7.3.1's release offers fullscreen playback without a Pro key. It's been in the offing for a while, given Leopard's QT apparently offers such, and iTunes has supported fullscreen for a while. There've been various ways around, such as third-party QT-based players (the APIs have always been complete - the stock Player app's simply not offered the option), or AppleScript snippets, but that's not quite the same.

Photographers - is it likely this iPhone ad was shot using only the device's backlight? It's certainly a good piece of commercial artwork, in any event. (Bear in mind, when others were starting to discover the opposite (or same) sex, I had computer ads from magazines[1] on my walls.. I've improved since then, really I have =:)

[1] Oh, gods, I even had a program listing up for a while, too.. in my defense, I'd like to add that there were also some good pages from skiing mags as well.

Yay! VGCats plush!

Ferret lovers be warned - this clip is tooth-destroyingly adorable. ^_^ (And with a ferociously catchy soundtrack, too)

Wouldn't it be fun to rework the video for Technologic to match up with the psytrance Bamboo Forest remix..

Isn't this a beautiful coloring job?

I'm looking forward to watching this at some point: Nukie.
Without a doubt, bar none, unequivocally the worst film ever conceived by Man. Watching this film is an exercise in pure masochism. "Nukie" doesn't even have the "so bad it's good" charm of other horrible wastes of celluloid such as "Troll 2" or "Hobgoblins." The title character actually looks like a cross between a retarded bushbaby, a rotten potato, and a burlap sack full of horse manure. It's obvious that the creators of this film were envisioning an ET-like so-ugly-he's-cute character, with delusions of multi-million dollar licensing deals, lunchboxes and action figure lines. What they ended up with was a hideous monkey-faced monstrosity straight out of your worst Lovecraftian nightmare. This film is a horrible blight on the history of Mankind. It is pure torture and should not be viewed at any time by any human being whatsoever. I've made it my life's work to track down the unholy Sias Odendal, director of this film, and beat him senseless for his crimes against humanity. I blame "Nukie" for destroying my life and utterly shattering any hope that I may have had for the future of our civilization. Early on in the film, one of the "Space Foundation" scientists utters the line "This actually should not exist!" That is precisely how I feel about this film. I hate God for allowing this film to be made.

In the immortal words of Tom Servo, "I'd slap this movie if I could."
