I was tickled to receive a genuine response from a potential employer this morning, too. I doubt anything'll come of it, but I'll certainly give it a shot - seems like they want a simple code sample, so I'll offer a couple solutions to the simple situation described, and see if they take the bait, so to speak. ^_^ Would be a fun position, too, working on mobile wireless shiny gadgets, with very restrictive (well, compared to desktops and laptops) hardware - ideal for someone who really enjoys code efficiency. Not quite sure where it'd be, but the posting hints at the peninsula, which'd be fine by me. ^_^

And I've just discovered that the previously mentioned <i>Lemon Jelly</i> video <a href="http://www.airside.co.uk/business/movingimage/movies/ljducksvid_hi.mov">is indeed still available</a> from the production company responsible as a downloadable movie, just seemingly not linked from anywhere. It's a 15MB download, and well worth it. ^_^

mmm, need to take time and look through that and see if there's anything I really need to get from you... my list is here: http://darwin.servehttp.com/numair-animelist.txt

::downloads the movie to watch when he can find the time::
Come to that, what have you been watching recently? I've not been keeping up with that many series, given the backlog I have anyway. ITwin Spica's been rather good, but Anime-Fansubs seem to've taken something of a vacation; Fullmetal Alchemist probably goes without saying, and Papuwa is wonderfully bizarre. Oh, and Ocha-ken - much cuter than Bottle Fairy, I'd say, and the premise is somewhat novel. ^_^ I might catch up on Cromartie as well - the first few episodes were quite good.

I didn't care for the premise of Gunslinger Girl, but it undeniably had impressive atmosphere in the first episode I watched. Then there's a couple I've not yet seen - Popolocrois, Mezzo DSA, and Sou Nanda.

Of course, the comparative light download load at the moment is aided by a present lack of CD-Rs.. oh, for a DVD-R! But I'd settle for a 17" PowerBook.
Mmm, I've been following [in no particular order... series (number of episodes out / total number of episodes as far as I know) ] Naruto (68/???), Tenshi no Konomaki (35/50?), Chrno Crusade (8/??), ROD TV (18/26?), Tokyo Mew Mew (34/??), Mahoujin Guru Guru (19/50), Gilgamesh (16/??), Galaxy Railways (6/??), Battle Programmer Shirase (5/??), Kino no Tabi (6/13)

Recently finished Popotan (12 eps total), Princess Tutu (26 eps total), Shingetsutan Tsukihime (12 eps total), Triangle Heart OVA (4 eps total), Ai Yori Enishi (12 eps total)

Need to finish watching Excel Saga and Da Capo (recently finished with 26 eps)...

Thankfully, that's (only?) about 4-6 episodes a week... so I end up burning about 2 CDs weekly~ usually slightly more, since I play around with fink and assorted things way too much and end up downloading stuff I don't know how to use. Or will forget about and never use.
Ooh, about Papuwa... did you get them from Mognet? There aren't any seeds for episodes 4-10 (batch 4-6, 7-9, 10): http://www.mognet.net/anime_release_archive.html so if you could help so I could finish downloading..? ::begs nicely::
I downloaded them individually originally, but BT seems to agree they're the same files - once it's finished checking the files, in a couple minutes, I'll be seeding 4-6. ^_^ The roomie's away for the evening, too, so I can monopolise the bandwidth, muahahaha! (PC tech support.. random resets. Pity he doesn't charge family members for his time, else he'd be making some actual money.. that's about the third time in two months)

Yep, there it goes. ^_^ I'll see if I can get 7-9 seeded as well - space is a bit tight, and obviously, only so much outbound bandwidth (about 32K/s), but that should be feasible.

Now to see what Popolocrois is actually like! I saw it reviewed on jasconius' site, but I've forgotten it all now. (It's my way - I aim to establish whether I'm interested in a series, or movie, with as little exposure to specifics as possible) And the roomie's TV is a nice little thing - a 40" 16:9 Sony, with a modest PC by the side basically as a capture/decompression system.
::nods:: (been) downloading, although a bit slowly... Thank you so much! Mmm, I hope this doesn't cause any problems with your roomie. ^^;; If either of you ever need something I have, just tell me.
Oh, no problem at all! I should take a peek at the seeding for Papuwa and Twin Spica occasionally. That's definitely something of a weakness with BT, compared to a straight server arrangement - seeds can completely vanish, and are usually liable to, with lesser-known series, such as this. (Regrettably! It's easily one of the most fun I've come across. Of course, when you think about it, what else would a fish wear, but fishnets?)

BTW, I don't suppose you might have the Dragon Half OST? I did have it, once upon a time, but that went missing on one of my moves.
huh. fishnets... O.o now that you mention it, I guess it makes sense.

Twin Spica... Hmm, 6 of 20 episodes so far? I'll grab it when a batch torrent's released... hopefully I'll have more space then, and I'll be done watching the Papuwa I'm downloading now...

Never knew there was an OST for Dragon Half... sorry. I'll keep an eye out for it though.
Yay, Papuwa ep 4-6 batch torrent is done so you can stop seeding if you want... as with episode 10 and 13. I'll keep seeding all of the papuwa episodes until I reboot two times... (should be about 3-4 weeks, give or take)

Now to wait for the rest to finish, so I can start watching...
Could you possibly remind me where to find that singing-cat-in-box in your icon, please? Somebody linked to it on LJ a few days ago, I meant to look at some point when I wasn't at work, but I forgot until now and I've no idea who linked to it or where.
::nods:: http://darwin.servehttp.com/temp/flash/
Joy! Muchas thankias.
My pleasure =^^=
Eek, that Lemon Jelly video may have played funny tricks with my mind, but it was worth it.... it had rabbits! =:D
But who had the best moves - the bunnies, or the squirrels? ^_^ I'm really pleased shatterstripes pointed it out, and eventually, a downloadable copy was located. I foresee many playings thereof in the future. ^_^ Indeed, I'd be interested to hear what else they've done - but that video's definitely special.

As for videos playing with one's mind - might I recommend Chris Cunningham's video for Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy"? Rather dark, and it maintains the artist's usual method - any video may only use one likeness of him. And so, that's what the director did, in an unusual manner..
Ooh. I soooo want to see Wolf's Rain.

addedentry is not really an anime person, but, being a librarian, when I alerted him to the existence of Read Or Die he had to buy it. Wonderful stuff.
Now that was a positively nifty series. I've only seen the original OAV once, and the first episode of the TV series.. that's one I should download before the torrents go completely stale. The TV series seemed to come in for quite a bit of criticism from lovers of the OAV, given the focus shifts characters and settings quite a lot, rather than being a simple continuation of the story, but the first TV ep was encouragingly fun.

Now, if you want to send him into sugar shock, try Kokoro Library.. about as hard-edged as Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar (yay!). Rather distinctly opening and closing themes, too.
Huh, imagine that. Was seeking more information/torrent on Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto (Magical Meow Meow Taruto - apparently being released by bandai), and I found this post... you wouldn't still happen to have episode one, would you? Or know who fansubbed it, so I can stalk them and see if there's still copies floating around.
Hm! Looks like a series I might enjoy, too.. wish I'd been watching it in its fansub days!

Episode 1 appears to be hiding (quite possibly on some other CD), but ep.9 was released by Elite-Fansubs.
Hey, I lost my copy of Noiseman Sound Insect, and would really love to get it back to show people. If I put up an ftp server, could you be persuaded to upload just one more file to me?
